Job Title: Shuttle Driver – Part Time

Reports To: General Manager

Summary

The primary function of the Shuttle Driver is to assist the hotel guests with transportation, and attend to their needs while utilizing the highest possible level of service; thus, ensuring we are providing a welcoming and accommodating environment. As a Shuttle Driver, you’ll be transporting guests from one point to another, providing them with any information about the pickup and drop off points, while adhering to all safety guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • • Assist guests with luggage getting on, and/or off the shuttle.
  • • Ensure that guests’ needs and requests are completed in a timely manner.
  • • Ensure to follow through on all issues and discrepancies as pertaining to Guest Services.
  • • Be aware of tone and composure when addressing guests’ and other Associates.
  • • Ensure that guests’ names are used throughout your interaction with them and establish rapport.
  • • Maintain knowledge of all hotel functions and services.
  • • Responsible for transporting guests to and from designated points as scheduled or requested.
  • • Maintain van logs including, but not limited to: mileage, gas levels, oil levels, washer fluids & antifreeze.
  • • Inform the Manager on Duty if the van shuttle is in need of repair.
  • • Report to Manager on Duty anytime the outside of the van needs to be cleaned.
  • • Maintain the cleanliness of the interior of the van.
  • • Responsible for greeting guests upon entering the shuttle, along with informing them of any facilities, operations, outlets and or local attractions.
  • • Responsible for following DMV and chauffeur guidelines, as well as the local traffic enforcement laws.
  • • Attend all mandatory meetings and hotel functions.
  • • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.
  • • Report any and all wear and tear of furniture and/or equipment, as well as and safety concerns in your work area, to the General Manager.
  • • Comply with all company standards and policies, as established in the employee handbook.
  • • Other duties as required.

Education And Or Experience

A High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); 1 year related experience and/or training is preferred. Previous hotel experience preferred, but not required.
Shuttle Drivers in Rhode Island must hold a valid Rhode Island chauffer’s license and/or a valid Rhode Island Commercial Driver’s License.

Language Skills

A High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); 1 year related experience and/or training is preferred. Previous hotel experience preferred, but not required.

Mathematical Skills

The ability to perform basic mathematical functions: adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Safety Policies & Practices

All Associates are responsible for following the First Bristol Corporation’s safety policies and procedures.

Work Environment & Reasoning Ability

The ability to apply the use of common sense & understanding in order to carry out instructions, whether in written, oral or diagram form. The ability to work in close proximity with others comfortably, while multitasking in a fast paced environment. Must possess conflict resolution skills.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, Associates may need to lift items up to 25 lbs. and spend a length of time on your feet.
